The National Fisheries Health Organization of Peru (SANIPES) and the Department of Fisheries of Thailand (DOF) held a meeting via videoconference on Friday, 19 June, to exchange information on food safety certification procedures for whole frozen raw shrimp and frozen raw shrimp tails of the species litopenaeus vannamei.

The meeting also allowed for renewed inter-institutional and interpersonal contacts between those responsible for international matters and technical surveillance teams from both countries.

Additionally, this meeting shows the interest of Peru and Thailand to continue strengthening their economic and commercial links despite the global COVID-19 pandemic that continues to severely affect world-wide commerce.

Mediante Resolución Jefatural Nº 000054-2020/JNAC/RENIEC, el Registro Nacional de Identificación y Estado Civil (RENIEC), ha dispuesto de manera excepcional, la publicación de las Listas del Padrón Inicial solo de manera digital, para efectos de la elección de Presidente y Vice Presidentes de la República, de Congresistas de la República, así como de representantes ante el Parlamento Andino, a llevarse a cabo el domingo 11 de abril de 2021.

Para el cumplimiento de la referida Resolución, el RENIEC ha habilitado la dirección electrónica en su portal institucional que se detalla a continuación, para que todos los ciudadanos hábiles para votar en el proceso electoral del 2021 puedan verificar si sus datos aparecen correctamente:

El Padrón electoral publicado ha considerado a los DNIs emitidos hasta el 10 de abril de 2020 y comprende a todas aquellas personas que cumplan la mayoría de edad hasta la fecha de la realización de la jornada electoral (Ley N° 30673). Igualmente, bajo las mismas consideraciones, este padrón ha considerado a los peruanos residentes en el exterior.

De acuerdo a lo señalado en la Resolución Jefatural antes señalada, cualquier ciudadano u organización política puede solicitar que se eliminen o tachen los nombres de los ciudadanos fallecidos, de los inscritos más de una vez y los que se encuentren inhabilitados.

Cabe precisar que los formatos de reclamos y observaciones, y de eliminación o tachas con sus respectivos documentos pueden ser presentados, desde las 12:00 horas del domingo 07 de junio hasta las 12:00 horas del sábado 13 de junio del presente año, en la mesa de partes virtual del Reniec, cuyo acceso se encuentra en la dirección electrónica señalada en el punto segundo.

Today, the first shipment of Peruvian Hass avocados arrived in Bangkok by sea, corresponding to the 2020 harvest season.

This important cargo of one of the most popular Peruvian "superfoods" arrived consigned to the company Vachamon Food Ltd., one of the most important wholesale fruit distributors in Thailand. On this occasion, 7 tons arrived, in addition to the 3 tons that were previously imported by the company by air.

The ambassador of Peru to Thailand was present at the company's facility in Rangsit, Pathum Thani, to receive, together with high-level executives of the company, this first large shipment that has arrived in time to meet the growing demand for the Peruvian product in the Thai market. On this occasion, the shipment consisted of 1,080 boxes of size 24 avocados, destined for hotels and restaurants, and size 30, smaller and preferred by local consumers.

Since last month, the Hass avocados started to arrive in Thailand by air, navigating the logistic difficulties and other issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The feat was possible thanks to the strong interest from wholesale importers and the Thai public, as well as to the work of various Peruvian entities, including the National Service of Agri-Food Health and Quality (SENASA), which has audited 1,626 growers and 98 packing plants in Peru that meet the health requirements to export Hass avocados to Thailand, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism.

2020 is the second year that Peru exports Hass avocados to Thailand in accordance with the phytosanitary protocol approved in May last year.
