The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) has issued its fourth notification extending a ban on international passenger flights to Thailand for another month.
CAAT explains the need to continue measures against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in order to effectively prevent and control the spread of the virus.
According to this notification issued on 27 April 2020, the ban will be extended from 1 May 2020, at 00.01 hr to 31 May 2020, at 23.59 hr. All flight permits granted for that period will be canceled.
CAAT allows exceptions for landings of the following aircraft:
1) State or military aircraft;
2) Emergency landing;
3) Technical landing without passenger disembarkation;
4) Humanitarian aid, medical, and relief flights;
5) Repatriation flights;
6) Cargo aircraft.
Passengers disembarking on the above flights will be subject to communicable disease control measures, such as 14-day state quarantine, and regulations under Section 9 of the Emergency Decree on Public Administration in Emergency Situations B.E. 2548 (2005).
In the previous notification issued on 15 April 2020, the ban was extended from 19 April 2020, at 00.01 hr (18 April 2020 at 17.00 UTC) to 30 April 2020 at 23.59 hr (30 April 2020 at 17.00 UTC).
Meanwhile, the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration on 27 April 2020 reported nine new COVID-19 cases in Thailand, raising the number of confirmed cases to 2,931. Out of the number of confirmed cases, 2,609 have been cured; 270 are still hospitalized, and 52 have died.

Gracias a las gestiones de la Cancillería, a través de las Embajadas del Perú en Corea del Sur y Tailandia y en coordinación directa con SENASA, las autoridades de ambos países aprobaron el ingreso de la palta Hass peruana a sus respectivos mercados, para la temporada 2020, lo cual marca un destacado avance en las relaciones comerciales entre el Perú y dichos países.
La apertura de ambos mercados para las exportaciones de la palta peruana es una gran noticia para los agricultores y exportadores peruanos y posee especial relevancia, considerando las dificultades que la complicada coyuntura internacional causada por la pandemia del Covid-19 plantea para las negociaciones comerciales y el desarrollo del comercio mundial.
Asimismo, constituye una muestra de las muy buenas relaciones del Perú con Corea del Sur y Tailandia, países con los cuales existe gran potencial para el comercio de otros productos peruanos no tradicionales.
El entendimiento alcanzado hace posible el intercambio normal de las exportaciones e importaciones entre el Perú y los citados países, a pesar de la pandemia.
